The annual day long retreat will be held February 28, 2009 at Holy Trinity Church in Lenexa. Our keynote speaker will be Brain Patrick. Brian is a veteran radio and television newsman. He currently brings his talent to Catholic Radio on "The Son Rise Morning Show" specifically designed for a Catholic audience. The show is syndicated by EWTN radio each weekday morning.
Patrick is also now seen weekly as the anchor of the EWTN television series "Crossing the Goal". Crossing the Goal was created in 2008 by former New Orlean Saint's coach Danny Abramowicz and features an ESPN type format concerning men's issues. It can be seen on EWTN several times per week.

National Day of Prayer for Men
The St. Joseph Center-an Overland Park, KS men's apostolate, in conjunction with the National Fellowship of Catholic Men (NFCM) will celebrate the nations 2nd Annual Catholic Men's National Day of Prayer on March 19, 2009.
Originally conceived by Dan Spencer, Founder of the St. Joseph Center, he proposed the event to Kevin Lynch, president of the NFCM who enthusiastically supported the idea.
Archbishop Joseph F. Naumann endorsed the idea as well, encouraging men throughout the archdiocese to join in on the Solemnity of St. Joseph-to rededicate themselves to their role in the family, at work and in society.
More than 10,000 men around the nation joined in the celebration in 2008. The 2009 celebration will be held March 19, 2009.

Men On A Mission
The diocese of Kansas City-St. Joseph hosted it's third annual men's conference. The day long event was held in Lee's Summit Missouri on August 2, 2008.
Apologist Patrick Madrid-author of several books including "Surprised By Truth" and "Where's That in the Bible" spoke to the men three times. Madrid is also heard weekly on EWTN radio each Thursday afternoon. Mass was celebrated by Bishop Finn.

NFCM Begins Weekly Podcast
The
National Fellowship of Catholic Men is offering men a new webcast
service of upcoming Sunday readings. Produced by the CMF of Pittsburg
PA, men can, by registering on the national (NFCM) site, you can receive this webcast/podcast free each week.
The focus of the homily is on application to a man's life specifically. The NFCM is the central national organization for annual Catholic Men's conferences. It plans to offer other such services in the future and currently offers a number of discounts on men's materials and an e-zine.
