Many envision those involved in the marketplace to be exclusively self serving. We disagree. We see business, its practitioners and structures as a societal contribution, and integral to the happiness and benefit of the common good of mankind. The SAGE Group is committed to the development of professionals and organizations that speak to the very best in those who practice the art of commerce in a virtuous manner.
Many today feel that the primary role of the business organization is to cure the social ills faced in society through some sort of tertiary corporate program or philanthropy. While we encourage such private actions by executives and organizations, we believe that society is best served by business through free enterprise, private property and ownership and a profit incentive. More poverty, hunger and dignity can be built and sustained through commercial enterprise than virtually any other societal structure.
We believe all true virtuous business is rooted in the freedom and dignity of man as a unique and divinely created person. Every person, organization and government is called to embrace this freedom and dignity for the welfare of all.
Finally, we embrace the belief that economic health, while vital to the good of all, is not the cornerstone of true happiness. The author of true happiness we believe rests in God alone.
